Been catching up on my reading. And I really mean catching up.I finished reading Harry Potter the order of the Phoenix in 1 day. Probably in less than 12 hours. Goodness gracious, I have forgotten how addictive reading can be when the author is good.
it was really entertaining and the plot gripping.
However, I think the order of the phoenix is one dark and lonely episode of Harry Potter ever. Very saddening to think that a 15 year old boy have to deal with the burden of his birth. I for one, dont think I would be able to shoulder such burdens.
Since reading those 2 books, I have been busy catching up on the rest of the series.
However, I havent yet started on Prisoner of Azkaban. And I havent yet bought half blood prince. (too expensive lar!)
I supposed I might have read the books too fast, I get "sucked" into the whirlwind of it. I hallucinate about the magical elements when Im playing mahjong, (speaking of which I was the biggest and only winner last weekend ya must show off!! ahaha !!) but then that's probably because we have been playing nonstop 4 complete East,South, west,North! And I got tired! and I was so tempted to shout legimenis! to just see if it works on my mahjong kakis... *giggles*
Thats why since having finished the order of the phoenix on friday, I havent yet started on the Prisoner of Azkaban! hehe thinj my overworked brain needed a break.
Oh yes, I resume full working mode again since last week. and that reminds me to fill in my timesheet!!
oh yes, i can feel the money rolling my way.. and its about time.. i needed to replenish my bank account before the next semester comes crashing on me again.
Alrighty, I have eaten snake for a long time now, better get on with my work. (But then I have completed most tasks already... so i shall start reading? *grin*)
Life is good to me.
I'm so blessed!

Last Thursday, after a night of galvinising with my friends at Marina Square and watching Harry Potter, Bf and I started to head out to French Village, since we have heard loads about it from my golfing parents.
After about 4 hours drive, we were not disappointed. Weather was cool, sky's beautiful, nicely deserted, and beautifully architectured. French Village was a sight to behold.

We found a pair of these right at the reception area, standing guard and I can't help but wonder how the hell did the french ever managed to fight in these heavy iron military wear.

Look at all these houses... we stayed in one of these. Cute!

One of the many french paintings depicting the lives of the french children. There were loads of nursery rhymes being posted all over too.

From the watch tower the next morning, can't resist this photo that looks much like LOTR's return of the king. Those sinister slits almost like Lord Sauron's eyes. haha !

Then we went to the rabbit farm, only to be turned off by the pungent air of urine mixed with manure. There were donkeys and Deers too but it was so smelly, I cant bear to be there any minute longer. Love this greyish rabbit though. So adorable!

Then after visiting Sepang F1 Circuit to watch them cars rehearsing for their race over the weekend, we checked into our suite room in the middle of KL's Orchard Road.
And the two photo graphs of KL's highlights, the twin towers and dunno what u call that below, are taken from our suite room!

Its a two-bedroom suite. MY gfs arrived later on Friday to join us.
two bedrooms with attached bathrooms and a kitchenette, a dining area and an extremely large living area. They played chordaidee (however you spell this) till the wee hours that night.

This is one of the bedrooms, beautifully decorated. Good view of the KL shopping district area.

I think this probably might be the last of my trip to KL. There's nothing much to see really, such a boring place. I'll be saving money for further trips next time.
Well, well, I guess that's all for now. Been posting alot already.
Need a slight break before i start on my other book Harry Potter and the ORder of the Phoenix ;P

Bought the book some months ago but because been busy with school have not gotten to reading it.
Anyhow, I know why the fans of JK Rowling are so mad with the director already. There has been some major changes to the plot although ultimately the results were the same.
Firstly, for those who have watched Harry Potter and the Chamber of secrets would know, there's a house elf that Harry Potter set free from Lucius Malfoy called Dobby. He was not at all mentioned in the movie Goblet of Fire. He was also the one who gave Harry Potter the Gillyweed, not Neville who is supposedly only good at herbology.
Then Dobby's good friend Winky was also not mentioned. There's some kind of sinister relationship between Winky and Barty Crouch Jr. that's not being shown and deleted altogether in the movie.
When the dark mark was conjured, Harry Potter was not the only witness. Ron Weasley, Hermione and Harrypotter, all three of them, heard someone giving a magical command and witnessed the dark mark being conjured up in the sky but did not see the person doing it.
And yes, Hermione's dress was periwinkle and not the pink depicted in the movie
Anyhow, while the book was entertaining, I also feel that the movie is worth watching.
Some parts have to be omitted in order for it to be a movie and to me, as long as the director kept to much of the story plot, as long as the murderer is still the same, I am alright with the movie.
For a book that is 600 over pages thick, it is no easy feat to produce its movie. I still think the director did a good job.
Well, well, for those who insists that the director should kept to the book, then i suggest there be a director who is patient enough to direct a series ( you know much like those waste of time, taiwanese series that drag and drag, because the director wanted to show how fairy-like the heroine is or heart wrenchingly leave her hero) im sure, there would be supporters for this kind of detailed series.
But i doubt i would be one of them.

Everybody has go a right to his or her say.
I do not dare say that my view represents everybody's view.
On the 16th november 2005, I caught the sneak preview of Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire with family and friends.(after a wonderful 3 hr dinner at CAfe CArtel, Marina Square)
And my take is ...
I love it!
I think it being much more spectacular than any of the Harry Potter Movies I have everseen. So exciting, so gripping and it hardly seemed at all 2hr + movie!
I disliked the earlier few episodes and I have always thought that they were a waste of marnee. They were boring and uninteresting.
And I was reading somewhere that the first few book followed closely to the description of the book. BAH!
For all the money you paid to watch movies, did you come to realise that most popular movies are adaptations from books?
What do you mean by adaptations? (for those who dont know let me tell you...)That means they kept to the plot but changed some bits of it so that the movie would be more effective!
Well, this coming from somebody who did not read any of J.K. Rowling's Signature book series, you might want to dismiss my comments.
But mind you a movie has to be a movie! that is it must first and foremost serve to entertain else movie go-ers would not find it a waste of their money to sit through the entire show.
I think the director has finally wised up and decided that while he stuck closely to the plot of the story, he changed bits of it to make it more intriguing, entertaining. Therefore it became essentially a more successful movie and therefore a more thrilling movie watching experience!
A friend of mine who used to dismissed HP movies as childish, turned up on our little excursion that day. She who has not watched a single HP Movie till that very day, has this to say to me, "WOW, i dint know HP movies are so addictive! Now im so tempted to catch all the past series"
I am certain she wont say this if she had caught the first movie instead. I was the one who told my bf that I wouldn't want to watch any HP movie because it was such a waste of my time and money. (as you all jolly well know, movie watching is such an expensive experience!)
Many years ago, when it first hit our screens, I had preferred LOTR, X-men, Star WArs movies than HP's. My bf had to dragged me to the cinemas to watch hp movies.
But i think since watching this on the 16th, I believed I would be the one bugging my bf to the cinemas when the next one hit the screens from now on.
Well, like i said, everyone is entitled to their own opinion, you can always go watch it yourself and let me know your verdict.
Enjoy =D

Hello hello.. yes I have detoxed successfully.Just a hint of warning:
Please watch your diet after you have not eaten for 3 days.
I was too greedy and bite into my first meal of the day after 3 detoxed days something oily, difficult to digest resulting in me hugging the toilet bowl for dear life while throwing up the undigested food.
if u were to ask me will I attempt to do this detox programme again, I'd tell you.. no. cos its way too painful to bear and I think exercising is a much better option.
And yes, I lost 3kgs =)

ah.. im stuck at my last 3 pills for breakfast. And yes I did not eat anything yesterday. such an amazing feat.I havent went to the toilet yet - weird. By this I mean doing big business, lotsa small businesses just no big ones.
hmm.. Was just counting the pills.
I would have some extras after my 3 days. So what do i do with them after?
continue with the detox for one additional day ?
haha
Such a torture to not be able to eat good food.
I missed the taste of beef steak in my mouth. Yum yum~
But because of this detox programme, the first day i start eating I gotta watch what I eat to prevent stressing my digestive system who have been asked to go for a holiday of 3 days.
I probably have to eat my own words, but this detox seem easy enough for me. Especially since my favourite chef is away haha! No good food to entice me or whet up an appetite.
Grin

This morning till now, I havent yet eaten anything.YEAH!
HOwever, I do experience some kind of 'side effects'.
First, I feel pretty heaty especially around the throat area so i kept drinking water
I am beginning to hallicinate about junk food. Like prawn crackers, lays BBQ favoured chips... amazingly i have no craving for COKE (COCA-COLA) grin
Anyway, after swallowing the pills, you really do not have any hunger pangs despite not eating anything. Therefore i am really kinda beginning to look forward to dinner whereby I have to eat 8pillsA, 2 pills B and 2 pills C again.
but v difficult to swallow ah...
Sigh, we will see how things go.. i will try very hard not to ditch this detox.. already almost past day 1.
2 more days to go!

So since Bernard wanted to shop too, we two headed down to our good old shopping belt in ORchard to start our activity.
Started at Zara, he went to the mens section, he wanted to buy a nice shirt for his friend's wedding this Sunday. dint find anything. I on the other hand, thought the clothing in the female section pretty impressive, very glamourous but all in hues of black and white and purple. -.-
So we headed down to topshop next. I also went to french connection, warehouse nothing caught my eye. Then i headed over to nine west, nothing there too. How disappointing!!
But Bernard bought a really cool looking pink shirt! I told him it looked so flamboyant he would best look the part with a pair of white pants and some kind of boots! Yea! Huge pair of plastic shades that's just so in at the moment! So happening!! Bernard! Best if you unbutton some shirt button near the chest area to display some of your oh so sexy chest hair! that would definitely be so cool! Flamboyant Bernard!!! *cheers and wolf whistles*
So after we done with our shopping, we headed down to sushi teh for our salads. Just before we left Orchard, I edged him to have his brows plucked. He seem swayed, But havent decided yet.
So so, Bernard, have you decided?
Will you go ahead to be the flamboyant Bernard or would you want to be family man bernard... Have you decided?
Haha.. this is so exciting.. i can't wait for his reply

Sometime ago, when I first saw the detox kit being sold in the pharmacy, I bought one intending to try it out but never been able to persuade myself to do it. Especially since im such a glutton.
So why detox?
"It says, body detox is part of healthful cleansing for thougsands of years. It has been the foundation of every Culture's healing philosophy for health and well being. Due to pollution in the environment, residues from drugs, preservatives, processed food and unwanted waste trapped in our bodies, the detoxification process is essential for maintaining a healthy body and a healthy lifestyle."
Ever since they announced the winner in Villa Wellness, I have been so sold to the idea, that I have been praying for a perfect timing for me to start my detox programme.
I did the mild one which requires me to eat only fruits and nothing else for 3 days. I lose some weight but gained it back just as easily. I did feel somewhat lighter after that but none of those mental clarity claims experienced.
Haha
Today i started on the intensive and determination required detox programme. I opened up the kit I bought. I am not to be eating any solid food for the next 3 days. In fact, I am in the midst of my breakfast which consists of 8 pills A, 2 Pill B and 2 pill C.
Kua kua
i truly understood how those participants in villa wellness felt when they cannot eat good food spread beore their eyes but swallow those pills one by one. Im stuck at my 2 pill B. I tried to swallow them real fast, but to no avail. After a while, your tummy is just so bloated with the water you gulp while washing those pills down.. your throat just refused to cooperate anymore.
I still have 2 more pills to go.
SEe the kind of sacrifice women go through just so they look good.
Damn it, i hope all these is worth it.
